Privacy
The short version
The camera image never leaves your phone. SimTrack has no account, no cloud, and no analytics. The only data that travels is your head position (six numbers per frame), from your phone to your PC, over your own WiFi, plus a version check at startup and a licence check every few days (below).
In the app
- Camera. Face tracking runs in your phone's browser using an on-device model. No frame is stored or transmitted.
- Network. The phone connects to your PC on your local network using a certificate your PC creates for itself. Tracking data stays on your network.
- Licence check. When you enter your licence key, and about every 3 days after that, SimTrack sends the key and an anonymous ID for your PC (a one-way hash, not your PC's name or serial) to Lemon Squeezy, our merchant of record, to confirm the key is valid and count how many PCs use it. Nothing else is sent. If you're offline, SimTrack keeps working for 14 days before it needs to check again.
- Update check. Once when it starts, SimTrack downloads a small file from our website (hosted by GitHub Pages) that says which version is current. The request carries nothing about you, though like any web request it reveals your IP address to the host. Turn it off with
"check_updates": falseinconfig.json. - On your PC. SimTrack stores its certificate, settings, licence status and a log file in your user folder (
%LOCALAPPDATA%\SimTrack), and the date your free trial started in your user registry. The log contains technical status lines, never video. You may delete these at any time; deleting the licence status means entering your key again. - On your phone. Your smoothing preference is stored in the browser's local storage. That's all.
When you buy
Purchases are handled by our merchant of record, Lemon Squeezy, which collects the details needed to process payment and issue a receipt under its own privacy policy. We receive your email address and order details to provide support and deliver updates, and we keep them only for that purpose.
This website
This site sets no cookies and runs no analytics. Fonts are served from this site and, for the body typeface, from Google Fonts, which may log the request per Google's privacy policy.

Your rights
Under the GDPR you may ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and complain to your data-protection authority. Contact: support@getsimtrack.com.
